  1. How long will this take?

    On average, this survey takes about 10-15 minutes to complete. Depending on your situation, it could take a bit longer. For example, if you currently have more than one job, it may take a little longer to complete.

  2. What is this about?

    The questions are mostly about your recent work or school activities since leaving Job Corps. We also ask a few questions about services you may have received from Job Corps and your satisfaction with those services.

  3. How did you get my name?

    Job Corps works with Decision Information Resources (DIR) to conduct these surveys with their former students and provides DIR with students’ contact information.

  4. How will you protect my privacy?

    Decision Information Resources (DIR) has data collection policies and procedures to ensure that your answers are kept private and confidential. Your name and contact information is stored in a computer database that is separate from the database that stores the answers to our questions. All of our computer files are password protected and stored on secure servers. In addition, all of our staff sign a confidentiality agreement as a condition of their employment.

  5. What is DIR?

    Decision Information Resources (DIR) is an organization that conducts research for Job Corps and other government agencies. DIR collects information for use in research and program evaluation projects. All of the information you provide will only be used for research and to help evaluate the effectiveness of the Job Corps program.

  6. Why should I take the survey?

    By completing the survey today you can help Job Corps better understand how their former students are doing after they leave Job Corps. By learning what former students are doing after leaving Job Corps, planners can make the program better for future students.

    Also, you will be paid for completing the survey. Job Corps will send you $10 for completing your first (Q2) survey, and $20 for completing your second (Q4) survey.

  7. Will I be paid?

    Yes, Job Corps will send you $10 for completing your first (Q2) survey, and $20 for completing your second (Q4) survey. We will notify Job Corps after you complete this survey and the Job Corps Data Center will send you a check in the mail in about 4 to 6 weeks.

  8. How long will it take to get my money?

    You will receive your check in the mail in about 4 to 6 weeks after you complete the survey.

  9. Can you help me get services I need?

    Your Job Corps Center or your Career Development Counselor can help you. Please contact one of them to assist you.

  10. I don't have time now

    You can complete the survey at any time during your survey window by going to PostSeparationSurvey.com and entering your PIN. You can also call the survey line during the call center business hours to take the survey over the phone or set an appointment. The toll free number for the survey line is 1-866-986-1968.

  11. Where can I find my Personal Identification Number (PIN)?

    You will be able to find the 5-digit PIN code printed on the postcard you received in the mail or in the email we sent you. If you can't find your PIN, please call DIR toll-free at (888) 365-0035 or send an email to PostSeparationSurvey@dir-online.com.

  12. Is there another way to complete this survey other than on the Internet?

    Yes, this survey can be completed either online or on the telephone with one of our interviewers. To complete the survey on the phone, call the survey line at 1-866-986-1968. If someone does not answer your call, you can leave a message with your name and number and you will receive a call back at a later time.

  13. Whom do I contact if I have technical issues with the online survey?

  14. How will my responses help Job Corps?

    Job Corps is interested in the insights and opinions of all former students, including those who didn't like everything about their experience in the program. You can help Job Corps become a better program for other young people if you will share your experiences by completing this survey. Job Corps is interested in everyone's opinions. It is important that Job Corps hear from students with different opinions about the services they received.

  15. Can I take the survey even though I did not graduate from Job Corps?

    Yes! As long as you completed your CPP e-TAR phase, you are eligible to take this survey.

  16. Can I go back to Job Corps?

    Please call 1-800-733-5627 for answers to any questions you may have about Job Corps Services.

  17. What should I do if I did not get paid for this survey?

    If you do not receive your check for completing the survey within 8 weeks please contact the help desk at the Job Corps Data Center at 1-888-886-1303. They will be able to assist you with this.
